opportunities

we have a chance to do something great each day. however, some days we let pass in anonymity. some days, we just ignore those opportunities.

but the great days in our lives are defined by the times we embrace the opportunities in front of us. what will we do today to make it great? perhaps it is choosing to spend time with a friend instead of at work. perhaps it is by choosing to work, accomplishing some task that previously seemed impossible.

however, greatness does not come to a day purely by choice. great days are made simultaneously through the choices we make and the circumstances surrounding us. some days, things will go wrong. I don't mean things like a bad hair day. I'm talking about the bigger things. cancer. death. unemployment. things that truly are inescapable. even in these terrible days, attitude can help to make them slightly less haunting. but I digress.

on great days, circumstances are also aligned such that things we desire happen. it could just be chance, or it could be a plan. I think it is a plan, God's plan. but we also must be involved in the process, seizing the opportunities that come our way.

great days come when we go for it; when we pursue our dreams ACTIVELY. instead of sitting back, waiting for a different day, we take what we are given and use it to the fullest.
